Film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect Premiers in Cannes 2022

Feature film “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” which was shot in Serbia for 12 days in the summer of 2019 premiered in Cannes Film Festival this year.

The production of Rocketry has been developing through a period of one year and the story is based on the real life of Nambi Narayanan, Indian rocket scientist who had a major role in rocket science from India to France and USA where he studied at prestigious Stanford University. His life story is followed by many private and work challenges and it depicts the golden era of rocket science in many world’s forces trying to compete with each other on success and power.

Film is the directorial debut for R. Madhavan, famous Indian actor and producer, who also co-wrote the script. Among many international cast, we will see famous Shah Rukh Khan, Simran, Rajit Kapur, Ravi Raghavendra, but also Ron Donachie („Game of Thrones“), Phyllis Logan („Downtown Abbey“) and great Italian actor Vincent Riotta („House Of Gucci“). Our amazing actress Branka Pujic also starred in the film. The most iconic Belgrade locations were used on this film such as: University Library “Svetozar Markovic”, The Faculty of Architecture, main city streets near Kralj Petar II elementary school, Astronomical observatory, Aeronautical Museum in Belgrade, Military Technical Institute and Institute of Physics. This project was supported by the Serbian Government and had qualified for the film incentive program in 2019. This is the first time that a new category was introduced in Cannes this year, “The Country of Honour”, and India itself was the first one to represent it, having had the premiere of Rocketry on May 19th. Clockwork is very proud to have this film produced in Serbia which will have the the official worldwide release on July 1st.
